This historical town has a beautiful location - on a small island, the serried medieval city walls, that had to protect the island against pirates and Turks in the past.

The sea promenade replaced currently part of the fortification. It is ideal for walks in the sun. The port with sail-boats and comprehensive services  is a part of city. Beaches in the city and its enviroment are pebbly, with many of the bay and gentle entry into the sea.

Whole Korčula islands with about theirs 20 islets is a paradise for fishermen and divers. Rich  subtropical vegetation such as Pini, cyprus, palm trees, but particularly of vines, olive trees and vegetables grows well in this a suitable climate up.

The most famous historical sight is the house of birth of Marco Polo, who was born there  reportedly more than 700 years ago.

Water-taxi from Perna goes to Korčula regularly several times a day and night. You can travel there by ferry from Orebić, or you can be transported to the island by hired sail-boat.
